Music Production Covers the foundations of digital music production including drum sequencing, music theory for producers, and studio etiquette. Production is taught in Ableton Live period.
Songwriting Covers lyric and melody writing, song structure, and song analysis. More advanced aspects of music theory are also discussed.
Mixing Covers the fundamentals of music mixing including balancing levels, vocal production and creating space, as well as current mix delivery requirements. Mixing is taught in Pro Tools.
Engineering Covers vocal recording techniques, digital audio fundamentals and recording templates. Engineering is taught in Pro Tools.
Music Business Covers the foundations of managing a music career including publishing, copyright, contracts and taxes.
Artist Branding Covers branding, marketing, song distribution and online presence for music artists, producers and other industry professionals.
Q: Can I do the program on my own schedule?
A: Lectures are from 11-1am Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. Just like on ground. If you can't make the lecture. You can watch a recorded version later. However, it is recommended that you make time to attend the lecture
Q: How do I access the school content?
A: The Academy uses an online delivery system that is accessible from computer or mobile device at any time.
Q: As a Live Online student, do I get to interact with my instructor?
A: Yes collaboration is encouraged between all students attending the Academy. Our Live Online learning platform allows for communication with all students and teachers.
Q: Are there any academic requirements to enroll?
A: A high school diploma or GED, an application and interview is required to enroll in the Live Online Program.
Q: Is the Academy accredited?
A: The Academy is approved to operate by the Bureau of Private Post-secondary Education, a division of the California Consumer Affairs Department and offers certificates of completion for their programs. The Academy is not accredited by a national or regional accreditation body.
