Our Live Online Music & Industry Fundamentals Program offers online music classes taught by an On-Campus Instructor in a virtual classroom setting—that means courses are in real-time, yet virtually, in the comfort of your home.

Tuition payment processed after Interview and Acceptance to the 1500 Sound Academy.

Online Music Classes

Music Production Covers the foundations of digital music production including drum sequencing, music theory for producers, and studio etiquette. Production is taught in Ableton Live.

Songwriting Covers lyric and melody writing, song structure, and song analysis. More advanced aspects of music theory are also discussed.

Mixing Covers the fundamentals of music mixing including balancing levels, vocal production and creating space, as well as current mix delivery requirements. Mixing is taught in Pro Tools.

Engineering Covers vocal recording techniques, digital audio fundamentals and recording templates. Engineering is taught in Pro Tools.

Music Business Covers the foundations of managing a music career including publishing, copyright, contracts and taxes.

Artist Branding Covers branding, marketing, song distribution and online presence for music artists, producers and other industry professionals.

A: The Academy uses an online delivery system that is accessible from a computer or mobile device at any time.

Q: As a Live Online student, do I get to interact with my instructor?

A: Yes, collaboration is encouraged between all students attending our Live Online courses. Our Live Online learning platform allows for communication with all students and teachers.

Q: Are there any academic requirements to enroll?

A: A high school diploma or GED, an application, and an interview are required to enroll in our online music classes.

Q: Is the Academy accredited?

A: The Academy is approved to operate by the Bureau of Private Postsecondary Education, a division of the California Consumer Affairs Department, and offers certificates of completion for their programs. The Academy is not accredited by a national or regional accreditation body.
